Getting to Jogja from KL & Singapore
Most visitors from Malaysia and Singapore fly straight into Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA). Here's what we know as of October 2026.
Direct flights (as of Oct 2026)
From Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
AirAsia flies about twice a day and Malaysia Airlines about twice a week to YIA. The flight takes roughly 2 h 45 min.
From Singapore (SIN)
Scoot flies about 10 times a week to YIA. The flight takes roughly 2 h 30 min.
Schedules change by season. Check with the airline for current days and times.
Information as of October 2026. Check with the airline or official source before you travel.
Entry & visa
Malaysian and Singaporean passport holders can generally visit Indonesia visa-free for short tourist stays under ASEAN arrangements. Rules and required arrival forms can change, so check Indonesia's official immigration website before you fly.
YIA or Solo (SOC)?
YIA (Yogyakarta International Airport) is in Kulon Progo, west of the city. It's the main airport for Jogja and Magelang, but it's a long ride into town.
SOC (Adi Soemarmo, Solo) can be closer if you're staying in Solo. Check which airlines fly there from your city; options are fewer.
